FIRST Lego League

FIRST LEGO LEAGUE

What: FIRST ( For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was founded in 1989 to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology.  Students who participate in FIRST LEGO League will have the opportunity to solve problems focusing on a theme, using LEGO's and robotics.  Throughout the year, students will compete in qualifying rounds, showcasing their solutions and programs.  FIRST is more than robots.  FIRST participation is proven to encourage students to pursue education and careers in STEM-related fields, inspire them to become leaders and innovators and enhance their 21st century work-life skills.

Who: Grades 4th and 5th  All students interested may participate in the club. End date for joining is: Sept. 16th. There will be a competition on Nov. 9th; only 10 students will be able to compete.

When:  Monday's from 2:40-4:00  Sept. 9th-Nov. 9th.  An activity bus will be provided for students that usually ride the bus. It will take about 1 week after turning in your permission slip to have your student on the activity bus roster.
